Ecovillage São José
During its 33 years of existence, the Ecovillage has always counted on the raw material and energy brought together by its kitchen/cafeteria cell. This cell united the whole social movement that was formed and led to the creation of an ecovillage on the Island of Santa Catarina inserted in a portion of the Atlantic Forest.
Today, a group of the almost 100 residents and visitors practice organic
farming integrated with the natural environment of the surroundings.
In 2012, we concluded the implantation the project “Palmeira (palm tree)
Juçara: food from the forest” within the Ecovila’s lands. It was supported by
Brazil’s Ministry of Justice.
